Enumeration Type Documentation

◆ Node

enum class astro::lunar_node::Node : uint8_t
strong

Mean or true lunar nodes.

Note
True nodes use Meeus' five-term approximation.

Function Documentation

◆ position()

auto astro::lunar_node::position ( const Node node,
const double jde_tt )->toolbox::AngleDeg
inlinenodiscard

Calculate a mean or true lunar-node longitude.

Parameters
nodeThe lunar-node variant.
jde_ttJulian Ephemeris Day (TT), in [2409542.5, 2488069.5).
Returns
Tropical longitude in the true ecliptic and equinox of date, normalized to [0°, 360°).
Exceptions
std::invalid_argumentIf node is unknown or jde_tt is non-finite or outside the domain.
Note
Uses Meeus' mean-node formula or five-term true-node approximation, plus full IAU 1980 longitude nutation. Descending nodes are exact antipodes; latitude is zero, with no physical distance.
The project-selected domain matches Pluto's raw domain; Meeus gives no accuracy interval.
