Functions

auto vsop87d (const double jde) -> toolbox::SphericalCoordinate
 Calculate the geocentric position of the Sun, using VSOP87D.
auto fk5_correction (const double jde, const toolbox::SphericalCoordinate &vsop87d_coord) -> Fk5Correction
 Compatibility entry for the VSOP87D-to-FK5 correction.
auto apparent (const double jde) -> toolbox::SphericalCoordinate
 Calculate the apparent geocentric position of the Sun, using VSOP87D. The position is corrected to FK5 system, considering nutation and aberration.

Function Documentation

◆ apparent()

auto astro::sun::geocentric_coord::apparent ( const double jde) ->toolbox::SphericalCoordinate
inlinenodiscard

Calculate the apparent geocentric position of the Sun, using VSOP87D. The position is corrected to FK5 system, considering nutation and aberration.

Parameters
jdeThe julian ephemeris day number, which is based on TT.
Returns
The geocentric ecliptic position of the Sun, after correction.
Exceptions
std::invalid_argumentIf JDE(TT) is non-finite.
std::runtime_errorIf an internal angle cannot be evaluated.

◆ fk5_correction()

auto astro::sun::geocentric_coord::fk5_correction ( const double jde,
const toolbox::SphericalCoordinate & vsop87d_coord )->Fk5Correction
inlinenodiscard

Compatibility entry for the VSOP87D-to-FK5 correction.

Parameters
jdeThe julian ephemeris day number, which is based on TT.
vsop87d_coordDynamical ecliptic coordinates at the same epoch.
Returns
The correction (i.e. Δlongitude and Δlatitude).

◆ vsop87d()

auto astro::sun::geocentric_coord::vsop87d ( const double jde) ->toolbox::SphericalCoordinate
inlinenodiscard

Calculate the geocentric position of the Sun, using VSOP87D.

Parameters
jdeThe Julian Ephemeris Day.
Returns
The geocentric ecliptic position of the Sun, calculated using VSOP87D.

The function invokes astro::earth::heliocentric_coord::vsop87d, and transforms the heliocentric coordinates to geocentric coordinates.
